एसएससी सीजीएल की परीक्षा दो भागों में कराया जाता है। पहले टियर 1 एवं दूसरा टियर 2 होती है। एसएससी सीजीएल टियर 1 में टोटल चार विषय से प्रश्न पूछे जाते हैं। और टियर 2 में 6 विषय होते हैं।
